Automated characterization of polarization within a passively mode-locked erbium-doped all-fiber laser

Abstract

Automated characterization and alignment of fiber lasers based on nonlinear polarization rotation is presented. The obtained mode-locking maps allow reproducible selection of pulses with different characteristics by computerized polarization control.
