Generation of powerful tunable mid-infrared picosecond laser radiation using frequency conversion in periodically poled Lithium niobate

Abstract

The generation of tunable mid-infrared picosecond laser radiation in the spectral range from 3-5 µm by nonlinear frequency conversion in PPLN is reported. More than 3 W output power at 3 µm and 1 W at 4.5 µm were achieved.
