Abstract

All-fiber acousto-optic modulator controlled regenerative amplification of low-energy 40 ps pulses from a gain-switched laser diode is demonstrated. Unwanted amplified spontaneous emission is suppressed effectively and gain values of more than 37 dB were achieved.
