Abstract

We experimentally present the advantage of using circularly polarized light during laser amplification to reduce the accumulated Kerr-nonlinearity.The theoretical value of 2/3 for the reduction of the B-integral is verified in a fiber CPA-system. The demonstrated technique is very attractive since it can be employed in nearly all kind of ultrafast laser systems to scale their performance, when they are limited by Kerr-nonlinearity.
