Bi-doped Mg-Al-silicate glass - a potential medium for bulk NIR lasers

Abstract

A Bi-doped Mg-Al-silicate glass interesting for bulk NIR lasers is developed. The obtained quadratic concentration dependence of Bi-caused absorption is an argument in favor of the hypothesis that the emitting centers are Bi2 dimers.
