Efficient, room-temperature Tm,Ho:GdVO4 microchip laser

Abstract

A diode pumped Tm,Ho:GdVO4 microchip laser demonstrated an output power of 0.55 W and a conversion efficiency of 23.7%. To our knowledge, it is the highest efficiency reported for Tm:Ho-codoped vanadate lasers operating near room temperature.
