Abstract

A passively Q-switched Nd:YAG laser produces 50-mJ, 1530-nm pulses of approximately 30-ps duration at 100 Hz, in a near-diffraction-limited beam (M2 ≤ 1.3). Pulse compression is provided by consecutive SBS in C8F18 and SRS in Ba(NO3)2.
