Abstract

Structural birefringent properties of a hollow-core photonic-bandgap fiber were carefully investigated and applied to all-fiber chirped-pulse amplification. Preferable polarization-maintaining fiber-pigtail output of clean 440-fs pulses was obtained without any pulse degradation by polarization-mode dispersion.
