Extension of Supercontinuum Generation to the Blue in Cascaded Holey Fibers

Abstract

Combining holey-fibers with sequentially decreasing zero dispersion wavelengths, pumped with an all-fiber picosecond ytterbium laser, produced a 1.2 W average power white light continuum 0.44-1.89 µm. Enhancement of short wavelength generation is associated with optimized phase-matched four-wave-mixing
