Thermal Effects on the Scalability of High Power Third Harmonic Generation at 355 nm in LBO

Abstract

Numerical calculations with an experimentally evaluated model show drop of the conversion efficiency above 100W UV caused by thermal effects. With an optimized experimental setup 36W@355nm with M2 <1.5 at 100W fundamental power are demonstrated.
