Abstract

Spectroscopic properties of Fe2+ in pure and Cr2+ co-doped ZnSe under 5E→5T2 excitation, via Fe2+ ionization transitions, and Cr2+=>Fe2+ energy transfer are studied. RT gain-switched lasing of Fe2+:ZnSe tunable over 3.9-4.8µm spectral range is reported.
