Abstract

We report the first demonstration of a high power passively mode-locked diode-pumped femtosecond laser based on an Yb3+:CaF2 crystal. Pulses of 150 fs with an average power of 0.88 W and pulse of 230 fs with an average power of 1.74 W have been produced.
