Abstract

The Sr1-xNdyLax-yMgxAl12-xO19 (ASL: Nd) Hexa-aluminates crystals are interesting for 4F3/24I9/2 laser emission in 900 nm range. To improve the laser emission characteristics, a detailed correlation between spectral characteristics and composition is necessary. The results of spectral investigation of Nd3+ in ASL on an extended composition range are presented. Spectral characteristics of three types of non-equivalent Nd3+ centers, optimal compositions for dominance of every center and the cationic distribution types are analysed.
