CW and pulsed laser action in new Cr3+, Li:Mg2SiO4 crystal

Abstract

The pulsed and CW laser oscillation of Cr3+ in forsterite crystals Mg2SiO4, codoped by chromium and lithium, has been demonstrated for the first time. The tunability within the spectral range 1030-1180 nm has been achieved in pulse mode. In CW regime the oscillation was reached in the range 1120-1140 nm.
