Abstract

Multi-kW, homogeneously-pumped rods experience nonparabolic temperature distribution that induce spherical-aberrations. Accurate Monte-Carlo simulations yielded pumpdistributions tailored to spherical-aberration elimination. We present simulation results and some measurements using a >2kW output, 54% slope-efficiency (short-cavity) pump-chamber.
