Abstract

A high output pulse energy Tm:Ho:LuLF laser Master-Oscillator-Power- Amplifier (MOPA) was developed. The single pulse output energy of about 630 mJ and the double pulse output energy of more than one Joule have been achieved with one oscillator and two amplifiers. The laser oscillator has an optical efficiency of 3.1% for single pulse operation and an optical efficiency of 5.0% for double pulse operation. The total optical efficiency of the MOPA is 4.1% and 6.9% for single pulse operation and double pulse operation respectively.
