Laser Studies of 8% Nd:YAG Ceramic Gain Material

Abstract

We report what is believed to be the first demonstration of diode-pumped free running and Q-Switched lasing of highly concentrated (8%) ceramic Nd:YAG. Fluorescence kinetics and laser experiments are indicative of the material’s potential for high repetition rate Q-switched laser development.
