Abstract

Mid-infrared (3-5 m) spectroscopic properties of Er3+:BaF2 are reported. An analysis of the temperature dependence of the 4.5 m fluorescence lifetime revealed that the 4I9/2 state exhibited a multiphonon relaxation contribution.
