Demonstration of 20-W All-Fiber Oscillator Operating Near 980 nm with Cost-Effective Commercially-Available Double-Cladding Yb-Doped Fiber

Abstract

A 20-W all-fiber oscillator operating near 980 nm is demonstrated with a commercially-available double-cladding Yb-doped fiber. 20.1-W output power is eventually obtained with the slope efficiency of 16.1% and the center wavelength around 978 nm.
