Mode-locked bismuth fiber laser operating at 1.7 µm based on NALM

Abstract

We present figure-of-eight picosecond bismuth laser operating at 1.7 μm. Stable pulses as short as 21 ps were obtained. The MOPA setup yielded pulses with average power of 20 mW and pulse energy of 5.7 nJ.
