16 Channel Coherently-Combined Ultrafast Fiber Laser

Abstract

We present a 16 channel coherently-combined ultrafast fiber delivering 1.83 kW average power, 2.3 mJ pulse energy and 234 fs pulse duration at a combining efficiency of 82%. Challenges and further scaling potential are discussed.
