Development of DBR-free semiconductor disk lasers

Abstract

DBR-free optically-pumped semiconductor disk lasers are demonstrated by direct bonding of the gain chip to various thermal substrates. This allows broad tunability, potential for compact monolithic cavities, and high power scaling.
