Abstract
In this manuscript, we present an experimental demonstration by using adaptive fiber-optics collimator (AFOC) based on flexible hinges and levers for coherent beam combining of two-channel fiber laser array with simultaneous end-cap/tilt control and phase-locking control. Homemade adaptive fiber optics collimators (AFOC) based on flexible hinges and levers are employed to perform the end-cap/tilt control for coherent beam combining (CBC) system. The new type of AFOC utilizes piezoelectric stacks actuators for X-Y displacement of the fiber end cap placed in the focal plane of the collimating lens. Compared with the conventional design, the new structure of AFOC drives the homemade fiber end cap instead of fiber tip, which is more suitable for high power fiber laser system.
