Abstract
Dependences for nonlinear effect on ultrashort pulse propagation in mode-locked Yb:YAG laser with an intra-cavity highly nonlinear medium were analyzed by using a nonlinear Schrodinger equation. The output spectra were extended by the laser intensity and their widths are much wider than those of the gain medium. The pulse widths were also shortened by the laser intensity and these are also much shorter than those of the gain limit of the laser medium. The results agree qualitatively with the experiments.
