Abstract

Yb-doped fiber laser (YDFL) operating at short-wavelength could be used as pump source for extra-high-power fiber laser system. In this manuscript, we will report two types of YDFL, which have central wavelength of 1018 nm and 1010 nm, respectively. A record output power of 476 W 1018 nm YDFL is obtained with an efficiency of nearly 78%. The output power of 1010 nm YDFL reaches 10-W level limited by the power handling capability of Fiber Bragg Gratings.
