Tandem-pumped Fiber Lasers with Low Quantum Defect

Abstract

Thermal effects are becoming increasingly problematic in fiber lasers as the powers get higher, the cores larger, and the fibers shorter. We discuss high-brightness tandem-pumping, and how it can drastically reduce the thermal load. Article not available.
