Sub-10-Picosecond Pulses from a Passively Modelocked Electrically Pumped VECSEL

Abstract

We present 6.3-ps pulses with 6.2 mW average output power from a passively modelocked electrically pumped vertical external cavity surface emitting laser. These are the shortest pulses ever achieved from this type of modelocked lasers.
