Abstract

Periodically-poled annealed-proton-exchanged waveguides were fabricated in LiNbO3 and MgO:LiNbO3 wafers. Photorefraction was examined by pump-probe second harmonic generation (SHG). A 17X reduction in photorefraction-induced SHG-wavelength shift was observed in MgO:LiNbO3 as compared to LiNbO3 waveguides.
