Cr4+-doped silica-based optical fibers fluorescence from 0.8 μm to 1.7 μm.

Abstract

The luminescence broad band from Cr4+-doped silica-based optical fibers is highly sensitive to preparation and experimental parameters. We present spectroscopic measurements and discuss the optical properties of this new kind of active optical fiber.
