Abstract

V4+ doped YAIO3, LaGaO3, and CaYAlC4 crystals (3d1 ion in octahedral coordination) have been grown and characterized as potential broad-band laser materials. The effect of charge compensation on spectroscopic properties of the materials studied is discussed.
