Influence of excited state absorption to the residual losses and Q-switch operation of Nd-lasers with saturable absorbers doped by Cr4+-ions

Abstract

Small influence of excited state absorption to operation of Nd-lasers at 1µm is demonstrated. Incomplete bleaching of Cr4+- doped Q-switches during laser operation is demonstrated and its effect to output characteristics is discussed.
