Femtosecond Pulse Compression through Harmonic Generation

Abstract

We present a theory which includes the exact frequency dependence of the wavevectors and demonstrates compression of fs pulses at 800 nm down to 2.5 fs in the second-harmonic and fundamental from noncollinear interaction in BBO.
