Single-rod Nd:YAG laser with efficient polarized output

Abstract

The novel approach is to allow unpolarized radiation inside the cavity and to couple out only one polarization component to form a polarized output beam. Intra-cavity depolarizing elements provide coupling between the two polarization components to make up for the polarization-selective output coupling.
