Abstract

Tunable 192-197 nm pulse generation at 7 kHz repetition-rate inside a β-BaB2O4 (BBO) crystal employing all-sollid-state lasers was demonstrated. Intracavity sum-frequency-mixing of a Ti:Sapphire laser with a frequency quadrupled Nd:YAG laser allowed 31 mW and 10 mW average power generation at 196 nm and 193.3 nm, respectively. CZ-grown BBO crystals having intensity absorption coefficient 60-270 %/cm at 192-197 nm are proved capable of sustaining such average power at this wavelength range. Timing jitter between green pulses from different two Q-switched lasers was 2.44 nsec (FWHM).
