Abstract
Quasi-phase-matching is reported for the first time in barium titanate. Ferroelectric domain reversal has been achieved using conventional lithographic and poling techniques. Grating periods of 16.5, 17.0, and 17.5 microns have been used to frequency double the 2.05-µm output of a Tm,Ho:YLF laser by controlling the crystal temperature. Initial studies indicate large aperture devices may be fabricated with this material.
