Abstract

Periodically poled flux grown KTi0P04 has been used for extracavity Nd:YAG laser frequency doubling. More than 65% frequency doubling efficiency has been achieved with a Q-switched laser. 1.34 W second harmonic average power has been generated from 2.2 W of mode-locked laser output. The conversion efficiency is about two times higher for periodically poled KTP than for conventional type-II KTP.
