Femtosecond white-light continuum generation in a Ti:sapphire oscillator

Abstract

We present a femtosecond white-light Ti:sapphire oscillator obtained by intra-cavity continuum generation. Wavelengths as far as 460 nm on the visible and above 1 μm on the near-infrared side are available without amplification and with no external elements such as a fiber. The potentialities of this new source are demonstrated in a two-color pump-probe experiment.
