Abstract

We have investigated the use of noncollinear phase matching in pulsed OPOs. The angular acceptance of the pump wave could be increased considerably by tangential phase matching. In this way pulsed OPOs can be pumped efficiently by lasers with large beam divergence. Further we have analysed the bandwidth of noncollinear phase matched OPOs by considering the influence of the OPO signal divergence.
