ESA Measurements of Cr4+-doped Crystals with Wurtzite-like Structure

Abstract

Continuous wave and time resolved excited state absorption (ESA) measurements of Cr4+-doped LiAlO2 and LiGaO2 at room temperature extending from 200nm to 2250nm are presented. The results indicate that laser action at room temperature should not be possible.
