Abstract

Efficient intra-cavity optical parametric oscillation was demonstrated using LiNbO3 and KNbO3 crystals placed inside the resonator of a diode side-pumped Q- switched Nd:YAG laser. The threshold for parametric oscillation was 8.7 MW/cm2. Maximum conversion efficiency from diode light to idler at 3.75 µm was 1.82 %. A tuning range from 3.2 µm to 4.5 µm was achieved.
