Abstract

By introducing gain medium to compensate for passive cavity loss inside an external resonant doubler, 100 % conversion efficiency from incident 1.06 μm fundamental wave to second harmonic output was demonstrated. Using this technique, 1.8 W cw single frequency 532 nm output was obtained from 1.8 W cw single frequency diode-end-pumped injection-locked Nd:YAG laser output with additional pump power of 3.6 W.
