Abstract

Broad-band gain (over 120 nm) and second harmonic generation are demonstrated in Cr3+:YAB crystal as a double-function tunable potential laser medium. The maximum single-pass gain was 1.92 at 820 nm. The conversion efficiency of Cr+:YAB crystal was higher than that of LBO crystal.
