Abstract
This paper reviews the generation of continuously tunable narrowband 2.6–5.3 μm radiation produced by difference frequency mixing in KTiOAsO4. Greater than 50% photon conversion to 2.66 μm and 25% to 4.5 μm were achieved. An optimized system could produce nanosecond pulses with over 70 mJ at 4 μm.
