Abstract

The presence of more than one inequivalent Nd3+ site in KYF4 (multi-site nature) and energy transfer processes between Nd3+ ions in different sites are demonstrated at low temperature using site selective spectroscopy. Dual-wavelength lasing at 1041 and 1054 nm was observed in this crystal.
