Abstract

A nonlinear quantum well reflector in a coupled-cavity configuration strongly induces passive modelocking in Ti:Sapphire and Nd:YLF lasers, thereby producing picosecond pulses. With a dispersion compensated Ti:Sapphire laser pulses as short as 70 fs are generated.
