Stabilization and Spectral Characterization of an Alexandrite Laser for Water Vapor Lidar Measurements

Abstract

An optical system used to lock the Alexandrite laser frequency on a water vapor absorption line is described. The evaluation of the laser spectral characteristics is presented. They include the spectral purity, the effect of the laser linewidth on the absorption, and the laser wavelength stability.
