Abstract

We have demonstrated what we believe to be the highest electrical efficiency (19%), optical efficiency (61%), and output power (1.22 W) from a diode pumped Nd:YVO4 laser. The effects of mode size, thermal loading, and laser material on high power end pumping are discussed.
