In-situ characterization of epoxy composites with polymer-coated fiber Bragg grating sensors

Abstract

A pair of polymer coated fiber Bragg gratings are proposed for simultaneous characterization of temperature and strain in curing composite structures. Temperature sensitivity was 81 pm/°C which is 7 times larger than normal FBG sensors.
