Overcoming high-resolution limitations in optimized long-range BOTDA sensors

Abstract

A fundamental limitation in high-resolution and long-range Brillouin optical time-domain systems is overcome in this paper, enabling 500k resolved points over 25 km of SMF with 5 cm spatial resolution in a usual acquisition time.
