Abstract

We report on contribution from ferroelectric phenomena to the two-beam coupling gain factor Γ in Sr0.6Ba0.4.Nb2O6 crystals doped with rare-earth elements. The values of Γ are sensitive to the ferroelectric phase transition and may be controlled by a variation in Tc which is achieved, in particular by doping SBN with rare-earth impurities..
